Fundraising

Committee: 2 co-chairs and several volunteers
Time Commitment: 2-3 weeks/year for main event, 1-2 hours/month for FSN
Purpose:
The purpose of the fundraising committee is to raise funds for the many school events and programs which PTA supports.
It is our goal to have one major fundraiser per school year - Apex, which occurs typically in the fall, volunteers are needed during the final event of our main fundraiser.
We also have small "Food Spirit Nights" typically every month. These are scheduled with different local restaurants and are a great supplement for PTA funds.

Time Commitment: 1 week in the Fall, 1-2 weeks in the Spring
Purpose:
Coordinates luncheons for BCE teachers and staff during the conferences. Volunteers donate or make items for said luncheon, depending on the theme selected by committee chairs.
Design and run Staff Appreciation Week in the spring including decoration of the break room and assembly of luncheons throughout the week. Volunteers donate or make items for said luncheon, depending on the theme selected by committee chairs.

Committee: 2-3 co-chairs
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week
Purpose:
This position is to collect flyers, articles and information from students, staff and PTA members.
The Chair(s) shall then prepare the information, create graphics and/or blurbs, then submit to PTA President for final approval prior to distribution.
Communications include posting communications online to the Website, Facebook and Instagram, sending communications through Remind and to the school for E-mail creation, posting on the school's readerboard and creating new bulletien boards.
The goal is to help create public awareness and support for PTA goals, events and programs by using every medium of communication available.

Committee: 1-2 co-chairs and a few volunteers
Time Commitment: 1-2 weeks in the fall
Purpose:
Spirit Wear is ordered in the fall and sometimes in the spring.
Sweatshirts, hoodies, long sleeve and short sleeve tee shirtsmay be available for purchase.
Volunteers are needed to help distribute spiritwear to the classrooms.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/month, more in April and May
Purpose:
Take pictures at school events and in classrooms during the school year to combine with student pictures for the annual yearbook.
Volunteers are needed to take and submit photos to the chair(s).

Recess Night

Chair(s): PTA BOARD HOSTING AS A WELCOME!
Committee: 2-3 co-chairs and some volunteers
Time Commitment: 3-4 hours twice a year
Purpose:
Committee organizes recess night events throughout the year. The plans for these events should be flexible so they can be modified to meet changing conditions, concerns and needs of the community.
The event takes place outdoors on the playground.
We provide a selection (such as ice cream) for free to all of the attendees.

Committee: 1-2 co-chairs and a few volunteers
Time Commitment: 1-2 weeks in September/October
Purpose:
The fall trunk or treat event takes place in the parking lot, where students will trick or treat at decorated trunks of vehicles.
There may also be food sales, a carved pumpkin or a costume contest (activities may vary from year to year).

Time Commitment: 1-2 days in November
Purpose:
Event put on to bring families into the school and promote community by welcoming all guardians into school during a late start Monday to enjoy breakfast goodies with their students.
The committee and volunteers should bring in goodies and get set up for the event before it begins.

Time Commitment: 1-2 weeks in December
Purpose:
This event is to be a combination of a party and a BINGO night!
You will decorate the gym and surrounding areas with holiday cheer.
Also included will be preparing prizes that the students and families will win during the bingo games.
For this event, volunteers will be needed to help with everything from setup and bingo caller, to concession sales and cleanup.
At the event you will also need concessions, especially if occurring during dinner hours - if so, volunteers will be needed to work the concessions.

Time Commitment: 1-2 weeks in the winter
Purpose:
A FULL FAMILY oriented dance to be a fun evening of dancing, pictures and refreshment at Bowman Creek!
Volunteers are needed to donate items for the event, help decorate and with clean up.

Purpose:
Prepare the prizes that the students and families will win during the bingo games.
Organize and put on a fun event that will bring families together and stay warm in our wonderful gym.
For this event, volunteers will be needed to help with everything from setup and bingo caller, to concession sales and cleanup.
Talent Show

Committee: 1-2 co-chairs and a few volunteers
Time Commitment: 3 week or so in January-February
Purpose:
Plan for and direct an annual Talent Show consisting of Bowman Creek student performers!
Determine tryout guidelines, dates, and times, show date, and rehearsal dates and times with the principal and PTA president.
Volunteers needed for seating and potential concessions sales.
Carnival

Chair(s): Kaity Harris, Andrea Skjonsby & Molly Haechler
Committee: 2-3 co-chairs and many volunteers
Time Commitment: 2+ weeks in May/June
Purpose:
Carnival takes place in the late spring and is a large outdoor events at Bowman Creek.
This event includes rented bouncy houses, games created by PTA, activities such as face paint and hair chalk, and concessions sales!
Additionally food trucks are brought onto school property to add more options for eating during this event.
Volunteers are needed to set up stations, ticket sales, to run the activities and ensure student safety.
